Fintage Publishing
Congratulations to Christopher Elves on winning the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction and Composition in the animated children’s show Animalia.
On the international front, Fintage recently concluded a deal for the world (excl. North America) with Tori Amos’ publishing company Sword & Stone Publishing as well as a multi-territory deal for Nettwerk’s entire publishing catalogue. Other signings include Papa Roach as well as The Virgins with respect to their latest albums. Chris Pitman for his co-writes on Chinese Democracy(Guns N’ Roses) and Blitzen Trapper for the albums Furr, Wild Mountain Nation and Black River Killer. Jason Mraz recently reached another milestone when he entered the record books with “I’m Yours”. The track has spent more than 70 weeks on the US Billboard’s Hot 100 chart and the song is the longest running song in the US Billboard 51 year long chart history!
Fogsongs Publishing
Michael Peter has selected tracks from his album to be remixed by Dj Luna (Berlin). He is also scheduled for another round of co writing between touring. Dexter Morph and Elia Bel have been co-writing for a new project, while Daniel Dawes has been writing for a series of pitches for other artists.
In licensing news, Jude Elliot and Tim Ericson have their track “Dark Angel” licensed to Ministry Of Sound for the new Gods Kitchen Compilation. Instrumental tracks from Luke Koteras and John Kennedy are also to be featured in a USA Network TV series. New releases for Fogsongs include: a new single from Jesse Morris on iTunes lifted from the forthcoming 2010 album; Rosie Burgess, who has just returned from touring in the USA, has a new album written and about to record; Patrick Carr is in the final stages of his third album; and Alex Chudnovsky has been recording new duet tracks with violinist Michael Hegeman for CD Release and youtube.
Kitty Groove Publishing
2005 Australian Idol winner Kate DeAraugo, has begun recording a follow up to her debut album, A place I’ve never been. Kate has hired the talented Kitty Groove Publishing songwriters/producers, Samuel Vincent and Jamie Lindsay from the Sydney rock band Kings Queens & Fairytales, to help produce, record and write songs for the album. This will also be the first time Kate will be taking part in the songwriting and production process.
Mushroom Music Publishing
Mushroom Music are celebrating the signing of hip hop heavyweights Bliss N Eso. In the past few years this hugely successful combo have been pushing their third album Flying Colours to the masses, achieving gold sales and earning an ARIA Award for Best Urban Release. The trio embarked on multiple national tours, the last of which became the highest selling local hip hop tour of all time, as well as being one of the highlight acts of Sound Relief. Bliss N Eso are currently bunkered down in the Victorian bush recording their 4th LP which is slated for a mid 2010 release. After an illustrious ten year career, Bliss N Eso are still yet to reach their peak.
We are thrilled to announce Daniel Lee Kendall as the latest signing to the Mushroom Music family. We’ve been fixated with this Central Coast singer-songwriter since stumbling across his self-released EP Time to Spend with Ones You Love. With a voice that soars like an optimistic Nick Drake, Daniel Lee Kendall creates beautiful songs that find surf-acoustic occasionally dabbling with folktronica.
Felicity Urquhart is no doubt Australia’s country music sweetheart and the toast of Tamworth after being named FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR at the 38th CMAA Country Music Awards of Australia, last Saturday 23rd January.
Her Golden Guitar trophy win came for current single Roller Coaster, co-written with music legend RANDY SCRUGGS.

Congratulations Leigh Ryan aka Plutonic Lab, who wrote & produced the two lead singles “The Key” and“Better Day” on the Mercury Prize winning Speech Debelle album, Speech Therapy. The Topp Twins documentary Untouchable Girls won the People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. Oh Mercy’s album Privileged Woes has received critical acclaim and is a finalist of the Qantas SOYA09 awards. Mexico City won the Courier-Mail People’s Choice Award for “Baby You’ve Changed” at Q Song Awards 2009. Composer Dale Cornelius composed the score on the controversial film 10 Conditions of Love. Ego Lemos is the first non- Australian Indigenous artist to be signed by the country’s largest Indigenous music publisher, Skinnyfish Music (SFM Publishing). A leading East Timorese singer/ songwriter who represents not only his own people, but a positive window into his own country through beautiful, simple and evocative folk songs. He recently won the APRA 2009 Screen Music Award – Best Original Song Composed for Screen for the song “Balibo” specifically penned for the movie of the same name. The debut album titled O Hele Le was produced by Michael Hohnen and Craig Pilkington. Each track is melodic, uplifting and with a haunting edge that moves beyond the Tetum language into a sound that relates directly to the soul. Imbued with a genuine honesty, his voice is heartfelt and his lyrics endear him to all who listen.

UMPG have renewed and extended their successful relationship with Grammy, ARIA and APRA award winning Wolfmother front-man and songwriter Andrew Stockdale. UMPG will exclusively represent the songwriting services of Stockdale for the World excluding Japan on a long-term basis.
For much of 2009, Stockdale and new Wolfmother members Ian Peres, Aidan Nemeth, and Dave Atkins have been bunkered down in an L.A. studio with acclaimed producer Alan Moulder (Smashing Pumpkins, Nine Inch Nails) preparing Cosmic Egg, released in October. Heath Johns, Head of A&R, UMPG Australia commented, “Andrew is a songwriter of the rarest kind and Cosmic Egg is an album of incredible quality. Marina Marsden and Clemens Leske, in conjunction with Wirripang, have produced a CD titled Spirit Dances, made up of Australian violin works chosen as part of the Australian content requirements for their examination. Showcasing important Australian composers; Matthew Hindson, Ross Edwards, Peter Sculthorpe, Dulcie Holland, and many others, the album displays outstanding artistry and professionalism on the part of the performers, and has been superbly engineered by Houston Dunleavy. Patrick Thomas has written an outstanding book of limericks that will be a “must purchase” by every concertgoer throughout Australia.
