APRA|AMCOS appoints Export Music Services Producer

APRA|AMCOS are proud to announce that Millie Millgate will be joining us as Producer – Export Music Services from 5 January 2009.

“Millie’s appointment to this dynamic role is an exciting and progressive step for the Australian Music Industry and would not have been possible without the backing of Sandra Bender, Director Market Development, International, Australia Council. We look forward to working with Millie and the Australia Council for the Arts to deliver signifanct export results for Australian original music creators,” says Sally Howland, Director of Member Services, APRA|AMCOS.

A joint initiative of APRA|AMCOS and the Australia Council for the Arts, the Exports Music Services Producer role will largely involve co-ordinating the Australian music industry's representation at key music markets for the purpose of promoting Australian musical repertoire to the world.

Locally, Millie will develop export strategies for Australian original music, working with key industry stakeholders including: State and Territory Arts agencies, Austrade, Association of Independent Recording Labels and the Australian Music Industry Network.

Working in the Australian music industry for over a decade, Millie brings a wealth of industry experience to the role having most recently been the Creative Director for MusicNSW in which she was responsible for the assocation’s key projects, including:

  • VROOM (Venue Resource of Original Music)
  • Indent (Youth Network for All Ages Event Organisers)
  • SXSW Tour Manager
  • Sound Summit (Electronic and hip-hop Conference)

Millie was also the Executive Director of the Association of Artist Managers (Australia) and an active member of the Australian Music Industry Network (AMIN), heading up their international initiatives.
