APRA announces new Deputy Director, Publisher Services

The Australasian Performing Right Association (APRA) is pleased to announce that Catherine Giuliano has been appointed as Deputy Director, Publisher Services.

Ms Giuliano moves into her new role from her current position as APRA’s Deputy Director, Licensing Services, which she has held since 2008.

APRA Head of Member Services Sally Howland said that Ms Giuliano’s appointment coincided with the Publishing role being elevated from Manager to Deputy Director level, reflecting APRA’s priorities in this area.

“We are very happy that Catherine has accepted this role in our publishing team – her experience and skills will add enormously to our mission of improving member-servicing capabilities,” Ms Howland said.

“Catherine’s time with Warner Chappell in the UK has given her a great understanding of the industry, and her leadership qualities and relationship management skills are widely recognised.”

Ms Howland said that Ms Giuliano’s appointment to Deputy Director coincides with an organisational restructure between APRA’s Distribution and Membership departments, which will improve efficiencies in the copyright management area and better position APRA to serve the interests of its Publisher Members in the longer term.

Ms Howland also thanked outgoing Publisher Services Manager Mark Eades, who will soon finish at APRA after spending more than ten years with the organisation.

“Mark's departure will be felt keenly by the organisation and we thank him for his contribution in shaping our service delivery to publishers over the last six years,” Ms Howland said.

Ms Giuliano will begin her new role effective January 16, 2012.
