Face The Music 2011 - Program unveiled!
Tuesday, 25 October 2011
APRA|AMCOS are proud to be a part of Face the Music's huge 2011 program.
As part of the conference, we will provide eight lucky songwriters with the chance to join a hands-on masterclass focussing on songwriting and arranging skills with songwriter Jarrad Brown (Songwriter/Arranger/Producer, Eagle and the Worm)
Jarrad says:
“Writing a sweet is a sweet activity. It can be meaningful or pointless. Doesn’t matter either way. Both good. For me; there is no such thing as writing a hit, writing for radio, or writing for anything really. Writing a song is about you and your guitar, or you and your manuscript/band/midi sequencer/lyricist/collaborator. It’s not really about anything else. There is no wrong or right formula. Songs get played in bedrooms, churches, stadiums, and soundtrack football players taking marks in slow-motion at half time. Anyone who tells you they have the answers (I.E me right now) probably doesn’t have the answers. If you smell a rat; you’re probably right. You should stop reading/listening and keep writing your song. Writing songs- Sweet times. Get into it.”
With only eight spots available, places are very limited. To apply, click here.
APRA are also hosting a Songwriter Speaks with Paul Mac, facilitated by songwriter and APRA Writer Relationship Manager Karl Broadie. And don't miss "Making Mu$ic: Leveraging Your Copyrights", a discussion featuring APRA National Writer Services Manager Kirsty Rivers.
