The staff of APRA|AMCOS extend their deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Eric Gross, who passed away at home on April 17, at the age of 84.
An APRA member since 1958, Eric was a highly respected composer and educator in the Australian classical music community. Having taught composition at the University of Sydney's Department of Music from 1960 until his retirement in 1991, he helped shape the careers of several generations of Australian composers.
His catalogue of work ranges from symphonies to chamber and solo instrumental works, many of which are regularly performed both here and overseas.
Eric is remembered by all as a true gentleman of the highest personal and professional integrity and he will be sorely missed by more people than he would credit possible.
