Win a Gibson Les Paul by voting in the APRA Song of the Year!
Monday, 7 March 2011
As songwriters, we’re pretty sure that our APRA members know their way around a good piece of music. Which is why every year, we invite our members to vote in APRA’s Song of the Year award.
Since Yothu Yindi’s classic Treaty was voted the first APRA Song of the Year in 1991, our members have annually voted on their favourite Australian song. Winners over the past two decades have included Missy Higgins, Ben Lee, Tina Arena, Neil & Tim Finn (Crowded House), Daniel Johns & Julian Hamilton (Silverchair) and many more.
This year, APRA is once again giving all Australian members and NZ members based in Australia the chance to pick their song of the year. Voting is now open for the first round to determine the top 20 songs, from which we’ll ask you to pick your song of the year.
It's easy! Just login as a writer or publisher, follow the prompts to vote for your favourite song. To make it easier we've put together a list of some of the most popular choices, but you can enter any song you like!
By simply going online and voting for your Song of the Year, you’ll also go into the draw to win a Gibson Les Paul Guitar valued at $2,500 (permit no. ACT TP 11/00540.1). But don’t delay – voting closes Monday 18th April.
