APRA|AMCOS present a very special evening with music lawyer Paul O'Gorman and local APRA staff, to discuss the do's and don'ts, common mistakes and frequently asked questions around song registrations and song writing credits.

About Paul O'Gorman

Paul entered the music industry in the late 70’s as a singer/songwriter.  He won the Yamaha Song Festival with his song, which he performed, called "Ride Ride America".  He subsequently represented Australia at the World Popular Song Competition in Japan , where he won outstanding performance and outstanding song awards.

Paul then released the song as a single along with his album "Poet and the Painter" through Festival Records, both of which were successful releases. During this time, Paul toured with such artists as Cliff Richard and Peter Ustinov.

Paul's songs have been recorded by local as well as overseas artists, and as a Publisher, has secured recordings of songs by John Farnham, Daryl Braithwaite and many others.

Paul operated a management company for a number of years managing Tommy Emmanuel, The Badloves, Debra Byrne and Russell Morris. He also managed Paul Dainty’s publishing company Marble Music for a number of years.

In the mid 90’s Paul commenced legal practice in the Entertainment Industry and has since acted as legal adviser to a variety of the major and independent bands and performers, producers, songwriters and record labels in Australia.

Paul is currently the Principal of Paul O’Gorman Entertainment Lawyers Pty Ltd and specialises in all facets of the Entertainment Industry as well as assisting and advising artists on song choices and production of demo recordings for submission to labels, distributors, producers, entertainment companies and other industry outlets.
