APRA is coming to Geelong!

Con and Sarah-Jane from our membership department will be in Geelong on Tuesday 26th of June. They will be hosting a Connecting Members event, a great networking opportunity for our members that will feature a panel called "Gigs And Getting Your Music Out There". Speakers for this panel include:

Heidi Braithwaite (Riot House Publicity)
Heidi began Riot House in 2006 as a solo initiative which has now transformed into a full term, well-developed publicity agency. Over the years she has worked with artists including: The Vasco Era, Little Red, Oh Mercy, Dan Kelly, Brian Jonestown Massacre and Ladytron.

Steven Nichols (Owner, Spinning Half & Venue Booker)
Steven is joint owner of Geelong based business Spinning Half – a multi-purpose music business touting a recording studio and rehearsal rooms while offering services from event bookings and artist management through to live sound production and lighting. Steven also works freelance as an event and venue booking agent for The Bended Elbow (Geelong and Ballarat) and Beavs Bar (Geelong) while managing a number of Geelong and Melbourne based acts.

Andrew Orvis (Artistic Programmer & Operations Coordinator, QMF)
Andrew has been working at QMF since 2008. Current ‘main roles’ are; Artistic Programmer, and Operations Coordinator. Volunteer at QMF from 2002 – 2007 in various roles.
Worked with The Little Stevies in management & bookings roles from 2005 – 2009
Running the Port Fairy Folk Festival CD Shop since 2010
Has also booked The Tealeaves, Black Market Rhythm Co, Steve McEwan, Marshall & The Fro.

Sarah-Jane Wentzki (Princess One Point Five)
Sarah-Jane Wentzki is a self managed artists with 15 years experience as a musician, performer, songwriter and industry professional. Her previous creative work includes comedy trio Mandaddy (aka Yon from Tripod), low fi experimental group i want a hovercraft, and most recently Princess One Point Five- with which she has composed for film, been synched for advertising campaigns and nationally toured with four album releases- the most recent achievement being a national online campaign for Australia Post. SJ is also a writers services rep for APRA|AMCOS and previously worked at Arts Victoria in the contemporary music funding program.

Jonathan Williamson (Arts Victoria)
Jonathan Williamson from Arts Victoria will also attend to give you the heads up on music grants for recording, promoting and touring your music through the Contemporary and Live Music Development program.
